I always think these things are a good idea - then never update them. Dr. Kearns, my Grad Capstone professor, told us to keep blogs or journal to keep our writing skills up, so a year later, I'm starting this! This is going to be my attempt to create a site that I will go back to update as much as possible. Although I know not EVERYONE cares about these updates, I would like to think everybody really wants to know what is going on in my life...so I'll try to give you all what you want!

Schoooooooooooooooooooooool's out, for summmmmma!
This has been an amazing week!
Monday - I was able to meet with the Superintendent to finalize a plan for the Fall. The BGC of Bandera County will be moving elementary school members in Bandera to Alkek and opening a Teen Center at our current location. This is the Facebook post I created earlier tonight:
In the Fall, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County will be adding another unit to our organization. We are calling this - Project Fall Forward!
Lakehills members will continue to attend Lakehills as normal right now.
If a member attends the Bandera Unit, things are going to change....
In another amazing partnership with Bandera ISD, we will be opening a new after school site at Alkek Elementary for all members at Alkek (age 6 - 5th grade). This will MOVE all current members of this age from our current building to Alkek Elementary after school. We are so excited and thankful for the partnership we are developing with Alkek and can't wait for this to become a reality on the first day of school!
At our location on 715 Maple Street, we will officially open a new unit - A TEEN CENTER! We will open on the first day of school in the Fall for ONLY 6th - 12th grade members. This is an exciting move for the teen group and we will be opening doors that have never been experienced before.
To be a part of these new adventures, contact us soon! We are excited for great things to come in Bandera County!
Thank you all for the continued support!
