Flavor of the WEEK...

What a week...

Sunday - Dinner with some of the family. We all went out to celebrate Ashley's birthday. We went to Fuji and I shared a KOBE steak with Jennifer. Which, I don't know how, but I didn't know this was suppose to be an incredible steak. I mean, it was AWESOME, but I didn't know how great it was suppose to be! Afterward, Jennifer and I went to her family's Sunday dinner. I really enjoy her family a lot and am just trying to find my way to fit in. They are all pretty cool people!

Tuesday - I was past as a Fellowcraft in Masonry. Amazing experience in itself!

Friday - Was able to watch a few good basketball games at my gym. Because of a lot of administrative changes, I wasn't able to watch as much basketball this year and was glad to have a few games caught at the end of the season!

Saturday - Well, for about 6 months, a few members of our Sand Springs Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club Council had a vision to raise money for the kids that we give scholarships to at our facility for various programming. This night couldn't have ran smoother than it did, raising a lot of cash for these kids. I will be counting on Monday, but felt compelled to write about how successful the day went over a nice nightcap before bed tonight!

Over and over again, I was pulled aside by all of the bosses I have in the Tulsa Area and complimented. I was also cornered by a few local leaders, community cash holders and one person who I look up to a lot and told how impressed they were with myself and the way the fundraiser turned out tonight. Knowing that we have raised the amount of money we have for kids in our community that need a place to go, programs in which to be involved and people to look up to...my night has been complete!

There has been many times that I have felt I am making a positive change in this position. Tonight, I would think has been one of the biggest moments that has been made evident! I am so pumped that this has been where God has put me at this time and with these people to make a change!

It's times like these...

Let me start by saying....I'M SO LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH AN AWESOME GIRLFRIEND!!! Jennifer and I dated in HS and made it official again on valentines day last week. Such an awesome date - dinner at McNellies, ice skating and "Valentines Day Movie" followed by me taking her home and popping the question..."will you be my girlfriend..." I mean, what did you think I would say?? Since then we have hung out with each others families...always getting to know someone a little better when you hang out with their family! HAHA!

It's coming down to a few close points in fundraising season! My schedule is getting pretty crazy, too! An order of events:

Saturday - The Salvation Army BGC Dinner and Silent Auction
Next Tuesday - Basketball Coaches' Banquet
Next Thursday - Youth of the Year Banquet
Saturday, March 13th - Bill O'Rilley at the Convention Center for TSA Annual Dinner
Monday, March 15th - My surgery

I've been working pretty hard on a few of these events. This Saturday will mark the first silent auction we have had in YEARS at my place and I'm actually really excited about the possibility and potential of this event. We will be trying to raise $15,000 - $20,000 for scholarships. We offer people a free program fee for many of our programs (after school, daycamp, football, basketball, etc.) and we usually eat these costs. The purpose of this event is to counter act these fees, which is great for everyone!!

We honor coaches every year with a banquet to tell them thank you for all of their hard work. it's an awesome event that really reminds me what we are all about and gives me hope for the upcoming season - what an amazing opportunity for all of us to get together!

Youth of the Year Banquet - Each year, Boys and Girls Clubs across the country pick a Youth of the Year candidate from each of their prospective areas. We will be choosing our YOY in the Tulsa area next week. We use to have a banquet, the last few years we haven't and this year, I committed to take this event on in coordinating it. Did I realize ALL OF THIS would be coming up at the same time...of course not!

Bill O'Rilley will be speaking for the Salvation Army Annual Dinner on March 13th at the Tulsa Convention Center. I believe we will try to raise at least half a million - but am not sure on that amount.

Then...my surgery. Enough said, just read older posts...I just don't feel like typing the story again LOL. Although, I will say I had my pre-op today and it went well! All questions, most payments and instructions - check! It's been a crazy process to learn, but I'm pumped to get it all completed and the surgery OVER!

Today was great at work. It started with a great time of going around town and start getting sponsorships, ticket sales and gifts for the silent auction. Very productive with all information that I needed THEN great news from Josh, our Assistant Director. It's just really been going well at work with great movement and programming!

Also, thanks to Tonya Zun - I've been going over the 31 Day Challenge again. Very awesome! Been exercising regularly and eating a little better, seeing that I won't be able to do any type of exercise for a month or two after the surgery. Excited to have my little sister stay with me after this surgery - so awesome to have a few days with her and lucky to have her help me out!

Wow, a little carried away now that I look at the whole post here. A lot going on I guess, that's why there is a lot to write!

Boob Job

Yes, you heard it correctly.

After a few weeks of praying, gathering information AND getting the financial resource, I have scheduled my big day to be March 15th. I will be having plastic surgery to remove the fatty tissue in both of my breastial (is that a word) areas. I will be one to say that I'm very nervous. I don't even know what's going to be going through my brain at the time, although I'm VERY pumped about the end result. If you pray, please be doing so for me. I would appreciate it very much!

I'm doing my taxes today...ahh!!! I know I don't have all of my information - I'm sure!
