Well, I've been through a busy week...or two. It's been a very exciting few weeks at work, good time in the classroom and a GREAT time with the RSU PIKE guys. A rundown...
Last Saturday, Captain Patrick Gesner arrived in Sand Springs. I will start off saying that we have been VERY blessed in Sand Springs to have amazing officers the last few years, the Boatmans. They have done a lot in this community and mended some broken relationships that our programs have experienced in the past. We couldn't have asked for a better transition through this officer change. The Boatman's and Gesner have known each other for some time and they were able to talk in town before the Boatman's left Sand Springs, so that was awesome! We are gearing up for a fundraiser and preparing for a few major spring ideas coming up...which will be a blast. The funniest part is me showing a new person around the city, introducing him to our staff and community, members and random people around town. Just a year and a few months ago, I was the new guy. My how things change. I'm very excited about the work he will do here in Sand Springs. It seems like we will work well together - so I'm very pumped!
It's been awesome to really connect with my class lately. The last few classtimes, we have been able to work together to find common ground on what they are starting to learn.
So, to the title. "Chances" is a song by Five For Fighting that I've found recently off of "The Blind Side"...awesome song! I've just been thinking about the awesome chances going on in life...it's cheesy, yes. I really like the song, so get over it.
