Well, I've been home three days and this is my third night since the surgery. As I am sitting here, I can feel the pain pump starting to die down. I don't know how much longer this will work, but I bet I have about a half day left with it in my system. This means that my chest won't be numb anymore and the only thing I will be surviving on would be the pain medication.
I was taking percoset, but the first night I was home, I had to itch the whole night. I wasn't able to fall asleep for very long. The last two nights I've been sleeping hours at a time. I also have the muscle relaxer, which has made a big difference. The only thing I've started to notice is that I have a few color spots on my body that I hadn't noticed until today. There are bruises and irritations, so we will see if they start to go down.
The great news - I'm thinking I might be a fast person of recovery for this surgery. I think this will be a pretty successful recovery!!
