THe rest of the week after my surgery was pretty good. Normally I wouldn't really say that I was excited about sitting at home all week and just catching up on all of my TV shows and catching the latest movies OnDemand, but it has been AWESOME to do that! Don't get me wrong, I love a night a week just sitting here doing NOTHING and catching a new flick, but I've gotten to the point that I really don't have a movie I want to see on this TV anymore! I've seen a lot of Ashton Kutcher, Anne Hathaway, Steve Carrell, Drew Berrymore, Justin Timberlake, Anne Heche, Craig T. Nelson, Brittany Murphy, yeah...just about everybody. This weekend, I actually had two plans, but they were cancelled because of the snow and my lack of ability to drive.
I have taken back the dosage of pain pills to half of what I was taking and half per day, which I think is pretty good! On Friday, I had my pain pump removed and my bandages taken off, but my drainages still haven't been taken out. I'm still "draining" a lot more than I should be to have them removed, but I'm hoping it will be sometime this week - I'm starting to actually feel them under my skin and more than anything, it's getting annoying!
The doctor is giving me about 2 weeks on the chest compression and at least wearing it for another month anytime I do a physical activity such as running. Although, I won't be able to swim laps for another month or month and a half. Hopefully sooner than later, but I'm not wanting to push recovery. The faster I can get back into physical shape, the better. I can feel myself gaining a few pounds here and there without barely walking around. Although I did buy a pedometer, which is helping me measure how many steps I'm taking, calories I'm burning and miles I'm walking. I will have to say I'm surprised how much we walk just when we're around the house and go a few places during the week.
Tomorrow, I will be going back to work and will be trying the doctor visit one more time - hopefully to get the drainages out! This week will hopefully be a productive week at work, but although I plan on it, I really am worried about getting to sleep.
